The Florence Township Boys & Girls Recreation Basketball League was established to teach the sports of basketball to various age groups within the Florence Township community.
Several "Divisions" were formed in order to introduce players of different ages and skill levels to the game of basketball. Beginning with children in Kindergarten, players are taught the fundamentals of basketball at an instructional level.
From the 3rd Grade level thru 8th Grade, College, Pro & Travel teams are set and practices and games commence between players. The Travel program does compete against teams outside of the township, however some game are still held on our home court.
Some of the most important tasks that the basketball program maintains are that ALL coaches are required to complete both a background check and concussion/head injury certification prior to taking part with any activities involving the players on the court. Sportsmanship, teamwork and the building of friendships both on and off the court are standards that we've come to enjoy during the recreation basketball season.
